Application safeguards

Checks before final submission.

These checks combine official portal requirements with practical safeguards intended to reduce avoidable errors.

01

Use authentic records only

False income information or fabricated documents may lead to recovery of the amount, loss of future scholarship and legal action.

02

Match the records exactly

Name, date of birth, roll details, institution, course and year should agree with the official documents and admission record.

03

Check the bank details

Account number, account-holder details and IFSC must be clearly visible and accurate. An active account under the applicant's control is advisable.

04

Inspect every upload

Scans should be readable, correctly oriented, complete on both sides where required, and within the permitted file type and size.

05

Review before submitting

Editing is generally unavailable after final submission. An unlock may require action by the Head of Institution; course or institution changes may require the helpdesk.

06

Protect login information

The Applicant ID and password should be retained safely. Passwords and one-time passwords should never be shared with agents or unknown persons.

07

Avoid duplicate benefits

Another Central or State Government scholarship or stipend cannot ordinarily be held for the same course or stage. One-time grants and free or partly-free studentship are treated separately in the guidelines.

08

Use the official portal

Applications and current notices should be checked only at svmcm.wb.gov.in. No third-party payment is required for submitting the online application.

Official assistance

Portal helpdesk.

Current deadlines and application status must be checked on the official portal. This guidance page does not replace portal notices.
